A.C. Burke is the Vice President for Healthcare Quality
for RB Health Partners, Inc. and is the primary author
for the Nursing Home Infection Prevention Program, NIPP©… NIPPing Infections in the Bud. She holds a master degree in health management and is board certified in infection control. Her 20 years of experience includes working in public health preparedness and response roles, serving as the manager of the Healthcare-associated Infection Prevention Program for the Florida Department of Health as well as the Director
of Infection Prevention for Mayo Clinic Florida.
In her role with the Florida Department of Health, she was responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary advisory board, generating consensus across partner agencies on program priorities to maximize resources across the continuum of care, and planning, implementing, and evaluating prevention collaboratives for health care facilities.
The HAI program also supported the implementation of evidence-based practices for improving the quality of patient and resident care through on-site consultation and evaluation of practices, development of action plans to address opportunities for improvement, surveillance data review and analysis to assess outcomes, development and use of competency assessment tools, and training.
A.C. has achieved national recognition for her work. She served as the project manager for Public Health Ready (a disaster planning, training, and exercise program) for FDOH-Seminole County, the first county in the state to achieve this designation by the National Association for City and County Health Officials (NACCHO). During the 2004 hurricane season, A.C. supported and coordinated health services in the community and provisions for special needs shelters in her lead role with Emergency Support Function (ESF), health and medical services.

Certified in infection control by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC).
