Vice President of Healthcare Quality
Meet A.C. Burke, MA, CIC! A.C. serves as our Vice President of Healthcare Quality. She is nationally recognized in her field. She worked for the Florida Department of Health for 15 years, for Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, for 5 years as the HAI Director, and for another 2 years as their Director of Infection Prevention & Control. A.C. is the primary author of our Nursing Home Infection Prevention Program (NIPP).
NIPP was created to meet the intent of the CMS required infection prevention training for a facility team member to be recognized as the designated Infection Prevention Control Official (IPCO).
A.C. holds a master's degree in Health Management and is nationally Board Certified in Infection Control. She has been contributing her expertise in infection prevention to the RB Health Partners, Inc. team and its clients for 5 years. A.C. has been nationally instrumental in the fight against COVID, supporting clients to understand and implement CDC requirements, best practices, and creating and implementing education and training.
In her role with the Florida Department of Health, she was responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary advisory board, generating consensus across partner agencies on program priorities to maximize resources across the continuum of care, and planning, implementing, and evaluating prevention collaboratives for health care facilities.
The HAI program also supported the implementation of evidence-based practices for improving the quality of patient and resident care through on-site consultation and evaluation of practices, development of action plans to address opportunities for improvement, surveillance data review and analysis to assess outcomes, development and use of competency assessment tools, and training.
A.C. has achieved national recognition for her work. She served as the project manager for Public Health Ready (a disaster planning, training, and exercise program) for FDOH-Seminole County, the first county in the state to achieve this designation by the National Association for City and County Health Officials (NACCHO). During the 2004 hurricane season, A.C. supported and coordinated health services in the community and provisions for special needs shelters in her lead role with Emergency Support Function (ESF), health and medical services.
