3 Hour Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD) Curriculum for Skilled Nursing Facilities
Curriculum Overview
This 3-hour instructor-led training curriculum prepares nursing home staff to provide person-centered care for residents with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders (ADRD) by teaching practical skills and strategies to support daily living, manage challenging behaviors, reduce caregiver stress, create safe environments, and address ethical considerations. Emphasizing participatory learning, it engages staff in sharing experiences and applying knowledge in realistic contexts to meet defined goals and competencies.
The ADRD curriculum represents 3 hours of instructional time and is organized into seven focused modules. A professionally developed PowerPoint slide deck accompanies each module for ease of instruction.
Curriculum Modules Include:
Module 1: Managing Behavioral Issues in Persons with ADRD
Module 2: Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
Module 3: Activities for Individuals with ADRD
Module 4: Caregiver Stress Management
Module 5: Working with Families and Caregivers
Module 6: Therapeutic Environments for Persons with ADRD
Module 7: Ethical Principles in the Care of Persons with ADRD
Additional Components:
• Post-Test
• Certificate of Completion
Target Audience
This training may be used by nursing homes to fulfill required ADRD education for all staff who provide direct care to residents with Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders.
Approvals
This curriculum is approved by the Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) and meets the training requirements of section 430.5025, Florida Statutes. Curriculum approval number is NH11318.
3.0 CE hours approved by Florida Board of Nursing and Florida Board of Nursing Home Administrators.
RB Health Partners, Inc. is an approved CE provider (Provider #50-25495) and will post hours to CE Broker and provide Certificates of Attendance.
Training Delivery Options
Facilities may choose the option that best meets their operational needs:
Option 1: Purchase Full Training Package
RB Health Partners, Inc. provides the ADRD for SNFs training as either a live on-site session or a live webinar.

Training is delivered by Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA)–approved trainers who are Certified Dementia Specialists (CDS).

Participants receive a State of Florida Dementia Training Certificate of Completion issued by RB Health Partners, Inc.

RB Health Partners, Inc. reports continuing education units (CEUs) for nurses and Nursing Home Administrators (NHAs) to CE Broker and provides Certificates of Attendance.

On-Site Training: Hourly rate plus applicable travel-related expense
Option 2: Curriculum-Only Purchase
Facilities may purchase the ADRD curriculum for SNFs for internal use.

Training must be conducted by DOEA-approved trainers.
